Since its inceptions, the co-op has made great strides to educate the growers on how to sustainably improve consistency and quality to help insure higher prices for there product.

Geribichu Lela is a sub-coop of the Sidamo Coffee Farms Cooperative Union, which is fair trade and Organic Certified. Geribichu coop consists of around 1000 mostly small farms.

The coop wad founded in 2001 and contains 262 members and lies in the highlands of the Sierra Madre de Chiapas. The reserve contains Mesoamericas largest continuous cloud forest, and serves as a refuge to thousand of plant and animal species.
